- Taylor Ho Bynum - cornet, other brass
- John Hébert - bass
- Gerald Cleaver - drums
This co-operative trio brings together three musicians who have developed strikingly individual voices on their respective instruments, both in their own music as leaders and as key collaborators with some of the most innovative artists of the past fifty years. The intimacy of the trio setting allows them to explore all aspects of their varied musical ideas, with composition and improvisation, sound and silence, propulsion and stasis, and structure and abstraction all sharing space in the mix.

RogueArt (2010)
“Book of Three brings back the art of listening, the art of silence, the art of collective improvisation, the art of slowing down. These three artists possess a musical rapport that cannot be composed. It is improvisation in its purist form — a process of listening and responding in order to produce a multilayered yet singular voice.” Robin D.G. Kelley, from the liner notes

Book of Three Live 2009
Bootleg
Recorded live at the Rotunda in Philadelphia, PA on November 2, 2009, the night before the first studio session for our debut album. A great show that I though was unrecorded, until an audience member handed me this bootleg when I played in Philly a year later.
